so, I created a nifty little calendar of people's schedules AND... the way it is now the only possibilities for meeting times are Sunday from 1 to 5 and Tuesday after 9:30 so considering we dont even have everyones schedules yet (we're missing Lydia and Katia) I dont think its a good sign....if you could rethink the schedules you gave me and double check to see if you have ANY other free time....it would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Kids! So this has nothing to do with this post, so I'm sure that I shouldn't be leaving this as a comment, but I don't know how to post, and have little interest in learning how. So we roll with this, yeah? OK! So. For one of my classes (Human Rights) I have a community service requirement, which I didn't know about, but am totally down with. So yeah, I was placed at this convent near the Vatican, which just kind of cool in and of itself, but basically I help prepare food for a Soup Kitchen thing that these nuns do everyday and then I serve the Nonni (Grandmothers)- i,e, the really old nuns. I was totally scared the first time (this past Wednesday) b/c I don't speak Italian and I was afraid that that would cause them to hate me. And there was no easing in. The one nun that does speak English led me down to the kitchen, showed me where to hang up my stuff, and left. Now, keep in mind that I had no idea what I was there for. I caught on when they told me to put on a apron and start opening packages of food. And...guess what was the first thing they had me doing...opening packaged meat and pouring it onto a platter with all the yummy juices. Oh yeah! JUST what I wanted to be doing! I thought it was quite comical. Way to throw me COMPLETELY out of my comfort zone. Thanks. But anyway, the other volunteers are made up of a couple seminary guys, 2 nuns, 2 priests, and a few other random folks. A few speak some English, one of the nuns is fluent, but they aren't really into translating or holding my hand. They just want me to work which is fine, when I know what I'm doing. So...yeah...where was I? I appologize for the ADD story telling skills. My bad...
Oh yeah! So one of the volunteers was really nice and took me under his wing. He's in the seminary. He asked me it I spoke Italian, I said No and then he asked "English?" I nodded and he was like, in perfect English, "I'm sorry. I don't speak any English." I kind of laughed b/c I though he was kidding. He wasn't. But then he asked if I spoke Spanish (I must have messed up and said somethign in Spanish instead of Italian...I do that quite often) and I said yeah, a little. He got really excited and was like, "I'm from El Savador!" (in Spanish). So, basically we spoke Spanish for 2-3 hours and he's a super-nice guy and it was good fun. Then he decided that he could teach me Italian and I could teach him English using Spanish as a common language. So that should be fun. I feel as though I'll need alot of asprin to make that work!
But yeah...things are just amazing, though I miss you all terribly! I can't wait to see you! Go Bears! Ciao Lovas!!!!

Everyone,
So I have been talking to Patrick Leahy as of late and in the spirit of conversation that we had discussed, I was thinking that we should have a dinner every so often where we invite over Leahy and some others with differing views of ours and have a good conversation about various topics. I think it would be great for both groups in many ways. Anyone seriously opposed? Let me know, I personally would really enjoy it.
Eddie
yeah, Viva El Salvador!
I'm good with the conversation thing, Eddie. Who wants me to bring them machetes back from el salv? Eddie, you're a given, but anyone else?
I love the conversation idea, dialogue is always sweet.
